Today's geogrids make it possible to build extremely stable earthenstructures at much lower costs than older construction methods.

Geogrids are net-shaped synthetic polymer-coated fibers that areused to reinforce earth-fill slope, wall and base layerconstruction. Incorporated in the base layers of paved or finishedsurfaces, or in surface layers of walls and slopes, they provide astabilizing force within the soil structure itself. Thisstabilization occurs as the fill interlocks with the grid. Theinterlocking effect is determined by the geogrid strength, meshsize and base materials used.
